Winter 2019 MSC Platform

The Winter 2019 Michigan Student Caucus Platform includes six legislative proposals, which are listed below and which can also be found in this Google doc.

In addition, here are slides accompanying the April 24, 2019 presentation of the MSC platform to the Michigan House Special Commission on Civic Engagement, in Lansing, Michigan.

The legislative proposals in the platform were chosen by the Caucus from proposals crafted by MSC members, as representing the interests of students in Michigan. Proposals in the platform were chosen as the result of several weeks of commenting, discussion, and rating by members of the Caucus.

The Michigan Student Caucus represents the interests of students of all ages across the State of Michigan.  Using this website and often drawing on a variety of off-line experiences, members identify issues, brainstorm solutions, create legislative proposals, and rate each others' proposals.  The highest rated proposals become part of the MSC platform, which is presented two times a year (in December and April) as a formal before the Michigan House of Representatives Special Commission on Civic Engagement. Hearings take place in the Capitol Building in Lansing.
